A New Robust and Fast Implicit Polynomial Fitting Technique
In this paper Fourier series expansion of polar representation of an object contour is used to obtain robust and fast implicit polynomial fittings for star shaped objects in 2D and 3D. The new fitting algorithm is compared with existing implicit polynomial fitting algorithms with respect fitting performance and timing requirements.
متن کاملDerivative estimation with local polynomial fitting
We present a fully automated framework to estimate derivatives nonparametrically without estimating the regression function. Derivative estimation plays an important role in the exploration of structures in curves (jump detection and discontinuities), comparison of regression curves, analysis of human growth data, etc. Hence, the study of estimating derivatives is equally important as regressio...
متن کاملOne Class Classification Using Implicit Polynomial Surface Fitting
When the number of objects in the training set is too small for the number of features used, most classification procedures cannot find good classification boundaries. In this paper, we introduce a new technique to solve the one class classification problem based on fitting an implicit polynomial surface to the point cloud of features to model the one class which we are trying to separate from ...
متن کاملFast Reconstruction of SAR Images with Phase Error Using Sparse Representation
In the past years, a number of algorithms have been introduced for synthesis aperture radar (SAR) imaging. However, they all suffer from the same problem: The data size to process is considerably large. In recent years, compressive sensing and sparse representation of the signal in SAR has gained a significant research interest. This method offers the advantage of reducing the sampling rate, bu...
متن کاملMultivariate Regression Estimation : Local Polynomial Fitting for Time Series
We consider the estimation of the multivariate regression function m (x 1 , . . . ,xd) = E [ψ (Yd) | X 1 = x 1 , . . . ,Xd = xd], and its partial derivatives, for stationary random processes {Yi ,Xi} using local higher-order polynomial fitting. Particular cases of ψ yield estimation of the conditional mean, conditional moments and conditional distributions. Joint asymptotic normality is establi...
